LG L226WTQ 22" widescreen is one of the best at the moment komplett, OcUK, hardwareversand.

Also calibrated colour profile is available (French LCD review site that made it doesn't allow hot-linking so I hosted it)

Is that a Sips monitor ? ,presuming its philips manufactured

Nope , its a TN panel , SIPS are usually a lot more expensive , the cheapest one I know is about 500 and that would be a philips , all the apple ones are SIPS . Also all the high end ones from the likes of NEC and Lacie are hideously expensive , with prices that shock most anyone !

Heres the site that tells you what panel type is in any monitor , I originally got it off a post on here somewhere but heres another link for those who cant find it. Type in model number or just manufacturer.

    http://www.flatpanels.dk/panels.php

SIPS are indeed very good , but its not the end of the world if you cant afford one , a lot of TN panels calibrate very well and are more than good enough for most purposes.

I don't play games ,I've read sips are only good for still/slow images. Slow refresh rate.

LG/Philips are my first choice ,always.

Yes , thats true ...ish! SIPS would be the preferred type for photo editing and image creation , Camera pros wouldn't use anythng else ( or so Im led to believe ) , but the refresh rates are still something like 12ms -16ms , not exactly a show stopper when it comes to games.

I have an apple 23 inch cinema display on my PC , Im very happy with it , and it plays fear very well , I have no complaints anyway.

bought two of these monitors the other day. Expecting delivery today. I'd read a few forums and reviews and it seems to be great value for the money.
