Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit SB-Version €85.60

MS Windows Vista home premium 64bit Englisch €94.28

    These are on hardwareversand.de

Obviously the price difference but any major changes in either to justify the price difference.

I assume the SB stands for System builders. The only difference is that the SB version would be used by people building a computer.

Which may effect the level of after sales support you get from Microsoft.

So would be better to go for the dearer one then even if I am ordering a complete system to build with it?

Who honestly thinks thats worth anything ? Hanging around listening to drivel on the phone while they get you connected to india is hardly worth paying for.

Any help you need with windows can be got on the net , save the money and get the cheaper one ,

Thats assuming of course SB does mean system builder and is not some language code.

Both versions in question are SB (OEM). The cheaper of the 2 is the German version. XP had the same price difference between the German and English versions.
The only other versions of Home Premium are the upgrade and the full versions. The upgrade is around €200 and the full is around €300.

With OEM you get NO support from Microsoft unless you pay.

With the full retail version of end user products you can ring up a number, and talk to a non-microsoft employee of the company that put in the best tender for the outsourced support.

    Google is your friend.

Don't forget you can't ever move the OEM copy of windows to another motherboard.
