Disk Maintenance etc

    Im used to windows where Id have - disk clean up, defragging, antivirus and a firewall.... Are any of these needed for a mac?

    Not really. You can use the built in OSX firewall and run Disk Utility every so often to check for errors and repair permissions. No need for defrag or antivirus.

    The Mac looks after it all, provided you leave it switched on at night. (Doesn't have to be on every night, although I never switch mine off unless I'm going away).
