Couldn't find this in the manual or online... we want to run an air conditioner and an Imac G4 desktop off of the same powerstrip. The powerstrip is rated for 10 amps, the air conditioner is 10.1 amps... the computer is obviously some amount... we melted the last cord, so... does anyone know the AMP draw of an IMAC g4 desktop? Thanks so much in advance!

The current draw of the iMac is irrelevant - your air conditioner is already over the rated capacity of the power strip. Does this aircon unit also behave as a heater too ? 2.3KW seems an awful big load for a simple aircon unit ? How big is it ? A load that big would be better supplied by it's own socket.

To answer your question the current rating of the iMac is about 2 amps on 230VAC - Are you in Ireland ? What is the voltage system where you live because this will effect the current drawn.

imac draws about 2 - 3 amps, but do not put the air conditioner on the same powerstrip, we used to have a mobile air conditioner on the landing plugged in on the same powerstrip as a lamp, turning it on and off caused so much surging that blew 4 bulbs in 2 months, imagain what it would do to your imac
