I decided to load up an Amiga strategic shump called Magic Fly. It was released in September 1990 and came on 1 floppy and worked on a basic A500 512Kb.

I never played this game but I read about it many times - so I dug it up today and gave it a spin around the track, so to speak.

The game started booting around for about a minute. Standard snazzy minimal workbench cli screen.

Soon enough we get to the title screen with a nice typical Amiga mod tune.

The intro starts showing our hero winging in to save the day.

He enters a complex to map and investigate the baddies...

Once in game I can access my vital stats:

While keeping a lookout for enemy fighters...

It's wireframe view game - so the update frame rate is good. It's a little bit complex to run especially for the lack of a manual. Energy for your ship is a big part in this game. There are docking stations scattered around in the complex to re-energise. Basically this game is a flight sim in doors. 6/10.
