They'll need to improve a lot on their performance against Sligo. Sligo were poor and a poor performing team beat them. They'll have to up it the next day, but we have often seen teams do that sort of thing after a poor display. So as a good Dubliner, I'll have to cheer against Meath. Come on the rebs(football only) and up Waterford! :D

Would you ever just be quiet, no wonder Cork supporters get a bad name with people making rubbish comments like that. I would not bet a euro on us to win the double this year. Today it will take a massive effort to overcome Waterford, then Limerick with no break and if we get to the final I feel that Kilkenny will be too strong for us ( I actually feel that Waterford would have a better chance here, which is giving me a really strange feeling about todays match)

In Football, it would take a near miracle for us to lift Sam this year( watch out for 2009, we have a very young team). I can not see us beating Meath on our recent performances and even if we did, we would not be able to cope with the class of Kerry or the hunger of Dublin on All Ireland Day

We are a long way from the Double, and with the way I am feeling this morning here in Dublin, I would be very happy to escape today with another draw.

Michael Collins might have lived long if he wasn't killed by fellow Corkonians ;)

Anyway, tough one this afternoon for the rebels. Will ye be able to stop the mighty Waterford forwards? I'm not convinced tbh. Dan the man is a bit of a handful.

Well in fairness ork are the only county in the country that can legitimlatley claim to have a chance of doing the double any year. Galway are probably the only other county that could do it but they have a poor football team at the moment

Who calls us Eire? That was our name as the free state, which was about 60 years ago. What double are you on for? Waterford beat you today. "Stud", I think you mean stood.

Maybe he meant the U-21 double. We already have the football one in the bag, the hurlers are looking good, beat a very good Dublin team last night in Portlaoise.

He did not mean the U-21 double. Cork defeated the Dublin minors last night in Portlaoise not the U-21's.

It makes him sound more "up the ra" and the likes to say Eire. Im sure it would all have been in Irish if he knew any other words apart from Eire and Tiocfaidh Ar La. He might know Saoirse also but id doubt it. Only the words he sees grafittied on walls :D

Yeah, sorry, the U-21's are still only in the AI semi. They are a pretty good team too though by all accounts.

His post was posted long before the Waterford game, so we know which double he was on about. As to Éire, just look at a coin or a stamp or your passport. It is the official name of the country. The free state was Saorstát Éireann. Anyway, let's stick to discussing the matches. No senior double for Cork this year.

Also James Masters has a broken jaw and will be out for the rest of the year!! It is now looking like an easy Meath win in the SF.
