I have 1mb broadband on my computer with an adsl cable thing. I want to get a relatively cheap router that would make it possible to connect to the internet on my laptop via wifi but still connect to the internet on my pc via adsl cable. Can you help? Also i've only heard of 1, 2 and 3 mb broadband, how can you get like 148mb routers?!? :S

Who is your provider? If you got ADSL in the past while, then I'd be surprised if you weren't given a wireless router.

Anyway, you need a wireless ADSL router. Here are some ADSL routers [not all wireless]. Here's a cheap enough wireless router. Have a look in Currys, Dixons and PC World also. I think they had an offer where you could get a wireless router [the one eircom supplies] for around €30. This could be well over by now though.

The capacity of routers is a little ahead of the capacity of broadband providers , however in this country we are behind just about everybody else in the bandwidth availble , Other countries have 25 -50 mb broadband available to the home user for the same we pay for 1 -2 mb , France for instance .
