Hey, so I just got rid of Norton AntiVirus, and as per advice received here got Avast! antivirus & Comodo Firewall...

Anyways, I downloaded this thing called AOL Active Security Monitor, it basically gives your PC a score based on how secure it is... One thing it flagged is the lack of PC Utilities that I have...

It said I have no PC Optimisation Program, and no file backup program..

My question is, what is a PC Optimisation Program? Is it something you should have? Are there free ones available?

    Cheers...

You do not need a PC optimization program ignore what the software is saying.

A lot of them are just snake oil sellers or worse spyware.

Yeah you can ignore that. AOL Active Security Monitor is retarded if it is saying that to you. Often these PC "Optimiser" programs are very dodgy and either do little good or do damage.

Although running a tool like CCleaner and cleaning your temp files can help speed you up a bit, or using it's registry cleaner can help your PC out.

Personally I like to use ATF-Cleaner, it is very good and will remove a lot of stuff that's taking up space and not needed.

Running a good defrag program would help also, JKDefrag is considered one of the best
