My Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop has an Expresscard slot instead of a PCMCIA slot. A friend of mine has lent me his vodafone 3g datacard but this will only go into a PCMCIA slot. Does anyone know if it is possible to add a PCMCIA slot to this laptop?

You should be able to get a USB to PCMCIA adapter.

    Similar problem.
Is it possible to take out the Express card slot and install a pcmcia/cardbus one?
I have a high end pcmcia soundcard and pcmcia->usb is one extra level of latency I don't need.
