Ciarann had similar problems recently and I think soneone was asking about Digit Alb
He was having problems getting a decent picture on a 1.1m in Dublin so I suspect you will need bigger in the west.
I had a quick look at that sat 16e a few days ago with a 90cm in Dublin. Didnt spend too much time alligning but of the FTV channels only one is strong - Alsat AFAICR, so set your receiver to this and allign.
About 10 or 12 other channels came in ok after some fine-allignment,
I used Footie Channel to fine-allign.
I only got a few others with broken pictures.
Scanned for DigitAlb but didnt get a signal so suspect you need a bigger dish or perfect allignment
If you are looking for this sat, mark off Hotbird and Astra1 then scan your dish between the 2 till you find Alsat, Fine-tune with Footie or other weak channel.

i take it you got a basic sat meter and at least 80cm dish.i could get 16e with 80cm lidl dish i used to use. what i would do is mark on bracket where hotbird is and astra2(19east) . you know then 16e is between these two points. just rotate dish slowly at different angles till you get a signal. ideally i would recommend a motorised setup to get many satellites . i got diseqc motors and brackets for a few mates with lidl dish's and they installed them no problem.

I'm struggling to get 16e in Meath with a 1m motorised dish and a Dreambox. I think my dish might be slightly out of alignment. The Dreambox tuner isn't the best. Should the 16e channels be ok in bad weather?

Try Ken Carr in Gort [main street] or Tommy Roddy [contact details on website].

tommy roddy has given up the sat. business for the forseeable future.
I rang him first off because he aligned my dish to hotbird last year.
    Cheers for responses

There is hope then for 16e in Ireland. I'll have a go at realigning my dish and report back.

16e wasn't setup correctly in my receiver. After putting this right I can get

    11595v 28800 7/8 (Balkanika): SNR 75% AGC 82%
    11449h 27500 7/8 (Premium1): SNR 70% AGC 76%
Running a Dreambox 7020 with 1m dish in Meath. Good timing for Saturday! Thanks
    :)

Judging by the posts here, I think it's safe to assume my Triax TD78 ain't gonna be any good receiving W2 in Donegal. :(
