Second moon

    I remember readng a few years back that scientists think they may have discovered the earth had a second moon. I think it was very small and tooks years to orbit the earth. I was just wondering if any one else has heard of this as every one else I've asked just looks at me like I'm an idiot.

    Yes your right , sort of , It really depends on how you define a moon , its an asteroid in synchronous orbit and its called Cruithne ,

    Its the meteor shower, its ment to put on a really good show they year, its due to last the week.

    I saw a good few meteors last Friday and Saturday night at around 1-2am

    Edit: just looked at the youtube vid, never mind!! wtf.

    Wouldn't be part of the Delta 2 rocket NASA launched yesterday morning re-entering. Very strange.

    No it is CERTAINLY not a meteor shower, sir patrick moore was on radio5 and confirmed it wasn't astronomical, ie not natural.

    And they certainly arnt from another planet. They are chinese lanterns, seen them in Thailand last summer,they really are spectacular to watch .
