BT Pricing Information Update

    Just received new pricing booklet from BT. I'm on the 3mb talk inclusive package. I do go over the limit every month. Under the terms & conditions that i signed, the small print said i maybe charged extra if I go over the download limit. In the new booklet it says that I will be charged 1c per 1mb exceeded. Do anyone know are they going to enforce this? I only left UTV because of this. I was assured by the sales person at the time I would not get charged even though they can't say it in public.

    What sales persons tell you at the counter does not count for much. it can be "mistaken" the T&C is what counts.

    It's impossible to say at this stage what they'll do because the revised T&C's don't come into force until September. It's be a month or two after that before the reports of being charged start to appear.
    I'd be very surprised if they do tbh.

    Just got this booklet myself, & was wondering about the same thing. I suppose maybe go easy on the downloading in Sept until it becomes clear.

    The mind boggles at the potential for billing debacles if they start charging for going over the cap! Have they given back any deposits lately? :D

    Damn, which deposit? Did we originally pay a month in advance for BB services?
    <searches frantically for old threads>

    Also, is the BT usage calculator not working for anyone else?

    You are stone raving mad. Phone Comreg tell them of your problem so that it is on record - they will tell you to commence BT's dispute procedure and if that doesn't work Comreg are obliged to get involved then on your behalf.

    Companies who rob customers deserve what ever they get - And that's what they have done here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't let the F*****S away with it!

    Mine is registering 0 Bytes, so no info for all of August.

    Did everyone have to pay a deposit, or just those who didn't go D/D?

    The payment of the deposit is an inexact science and geared towards those renting their accommodation though apparently not everyone in that situation had to pay it.

    There have been reports on here of people not being told upfront that they would have to pay a depost and only learning of the requirment when the service wasnt provided. In most cases apparently people have not received a receipt for the deposit and there are not definitive terms and conditions afaik for the term and return of the deposit. A used car salesman would be laughed out if he behaved this way!
