Wireless riddle

Hi guys. I'm not very intelligent when it comes to networking etc, so I'd appreciate some advice on the following query.......

Basically I want to connect 5 computers on the same network while only paying for one internet connection. However there are some limitations.....

There are two houses involved. One house (HouseA) will have the internet connection (connected through where the TV is located, so restricted as regards where I can have the incoming source). The two houses are seperated by another house. However I have permission form this middle house to run a cable discretly across their wall from House A to House B.

So in House A I will have a computer based at the source downstairs in the back room and another computer downstairs in the front room. There will be 3 computers in House B. One in the front room and 1 in each of the upstairs front bedrooms.

    My questions are.......

-is it possible to connect 5 computers together on the same network, giving them all Internet access through just one internet connection?

-do I defintley need a cable to connect the two houses?

-can one computer in House B be used as a 'hub' to take in the connection from House A so it can help connect up the two other computers?

Sorry, but this may sound very confusing. If you need any more info please ask. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Yes. No different from having them all in the one house. Just one big consideration: that cable you run shouldn't be longer than 100 m.

No. I take it you're getting broadband through your cable connection. Just connect the ISP's modem to a wireless router and see if House B can pick up a reliable wireless signal. If you really wanted to, the router could be located away from the modem to provide a better wireless signal to House B.

Not sure. Keep things simple. Connect the cable coming into house B to a switch [ideally not a hub]. Cables can then be run to the computers in House B.

Thanks for the reply Ethernet. A lot of stuff is coming back to me now from my college day- such as making sure that the cable is no longer than 100m.

Ideally I don't want to run a cable across the neighbours wall, I'd rather keep it simple. But I do want to make sure that the Internet is available at all times to all 5 computers. So could you recommend a really strong router?

And yes 'hub' was the wrong word I meant to say 'switch'. Does having a swtich in House B make sense or could I just see if all the pc's in House B pick up the signal from the router in House A?

    Thanks again
