Screen Size - For Multi-tabling

I’m planning on buying a big flat screen monitor to make multi-tabling cash games easier. At the moment I have a laptop and play 4 cash games at a time (tiled). The windows are therefore tiny which makes it really hard to read PT stats, which often cover over my cards so I cant even tell if I have 88 or 86o for example! So annoying…

Anyway, what do other people use? Would 19” be enough? Am thinking of going for 21” but thought that might be a bit much….

Then I thought the bigger the better, the screen will pay for itself fairly quickly cos it will help me concentrate better and for longer

You could also use 2 monitors, as another option.

Worth keeping an eye on here

    is that just too big?

As youll see from the linky Red Joker posted its not really screen size that matters its resolution i.e 1024 x 780 etc etc

Where do you play, for example on ipoker if your using 1280 x 1024 which is probably the max youll get on a 19" then youll have considerable overlap on this size resolution. But if you go for a screen with 1600 x 1200 then you will have little or no overlap. Youll see on the linky which monitors have this resolution but i think your talking in the region of €500, if your laptop is currently say 1080 x 1024 and you upgrade to a 1280 x 1024 19" monitor imo it wouldnt be much of a difference so id suggest waiting until you have the extra €200 and get a 1600 x 1200 monitor. Of course if you have a 15" laptop the stats will become bigger on a 19" but youll still have alot of overlap

Have you played with Full Tilt Poker, you can re-size the tables with them

I use Party, you can drag the tables to whatever size you like, which is handy

As you said yourself these things pay for themselves, if you're a serious poker player, which I gather you are. I would definitely get the 1600x1200 and nothing less if I were you. Cutting corners to save even a couple hundred is false economy imo.

I would go all out and go for the highest resolution you can afford. I have a 1920x 1200 laptop screen and it is excellent for mutlitabling. 4 ipoker screens can fit at full size with only a small overlap where it doesnt matter anyway. I would sometimes have 6 up which are playable at full size, or sometimes I can easily play 4 ipoker and 2 tournaments from Pokerstars resized as well.
