Anybody remember these? They tended to be held in parks like St Annes and were known for two things..excessive drunkeness and extreme outbreaks of violence. The only one i ever attended featured several running battles between punks and local U2 fans.Great days.

Ooh the memories. Mostly I remember the sullen air of violence ... I always thought it was generated by that hyperactive track-suited MC

I think his name was Electric Eddie or similar, and he used to "get the crowd going" in more ways than one.

How long ago was that ? Must be 20 years at least.

Christ I remember Electric Eddie. Then we progressed to the 2FM 7up Beat on the Street. Now there was the ultimate in cheese.

I was at the 1 in st annes in 1995, was only 10 at the time though.. I just remember being in an area with loads of SNES and panasonic 3do where you could play against other ppl there. And all the free drinks/t-shirts/etc. There was also some music I believe...

I can imagine the look on poor Pato's face when someone told him he was playing in Longford at a festival. He probably had this superb idea of playing in a stadium, only to walk out on the side of an artic to Longford.

:D Heh heh. And the older people of Longford probably thought they were getting a traditional Irish musician - Pat O'Banton.
Wow, that song was so massive - it was out around October 1994 if my memory serves me correctly. Surely Pato didn't end up playing Longford as soon as the summer of '95? It can't have been much later!

It was the Lark by the Lee in Cork. God, the scumbags! Walking around with massive - and I mean massive - knives! Not even trying to hide them (they couldn't possibly they were so big!)
    Yes indeed, great days.
