I suck at drums so what are some really easy songs to play. I've played for 3 years but i play like i've only played for a month because i never played much.

AC/DC. Straight 4/4 rhythms with the occasional triplet thrown in. A good example of that is "Back In Black".

    K thanks i'll try that.

And does anyone know any good sites/ active forums to join to help me get better at drums?

Dunno. You might try some place like Drumbum's www.drumsdatabase.com.

Before I got an electronic kit, I used to use www.dooleydrums.com for free drum samples to record with. It strikes me that you could use those loops for playing along with and training very easily.

you could try youtube for some drumming tutorials. i've been trying to get my speed up. something like Derek Roddy. (although i aspire to be Terry Bozzio, it will probably never happen :P). some books i would recommend is jazz for beginners and the drum bible, if you wanted to delve.

some old nirvana songs are really easy to play. how i started to learn was i was shown a 4/4 beat and just went on from there. plugged a walkman in (yeah it has been that long since i learned!) and just jammed along. kinda puts you in with the band, imagination is key when learning drums. well not key, rhythm is key, but imagination helps......

best of luck with learning, hope it goes well.

EDIT: just looked at the above post...a metronome will help out alot too. most studios today will ask you do you record with a click track.
