Confusion over Canon's Cashback offer

I picked up a Canon 400d twin zoom lens kit from today John Gunn Camera Shop, and reading over the information on canon's site about their cashback offer, it doesn't seem to explain it very well. It says that the offer which originally closed on 30th of june has been extended until the 31st of August. The details seem to imply that it only applies to purchases made before 30th of June, but if that were the case why would they mention the date of 31st August, when claims need to be in before 15th October.

Also, they list 4 things they need to grant the cashback, them being a barcode, photocopied proof of purchase, entry form and order form. I believe the entry form they refer to is the cashback claim form, but I have no idea what the order form is, especially since it is supposed to be dated before 30th June. Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially since if the offer is still available in full, I can get €280 back from canon.

What was the total price of the 400d and twin lens? Why can you get €280 back??

The lot cost me €1199. The cashback offer for that kit is here

    €1199 for the EOS 400D + EF-S 17-85mm USM + EF-S 70-300mm USM?

Is that for real? Is that €1199 AFTER the €280 cashback, or before it? Even if it's before it, €1479 seems way cheap for those two lenses?

    The 400D + just the EF-S 17-85mm USM costs €1339 from Komplett.ie.

John Gunn's did the best Canon deals by far when I was getting my bits - saved between €250 and €500 on just the 5D body compared to others around Dublin, before the rebate. And the people there are spot on, no bull**** about them.

I'd imagine that they're trying to make it sound as complicated as possible so people don't bother claiming the €80 back.

I can just imagine their conversations with customers:

"no sorry, you neglected to include your 'order form', so i can't issue you your €80"
"and where do i get an order form?"
"order forms can only be obtained at time of purchase or directly through Canon"
"can you post me one out?"
"yes, of course sir, you will have to pay for the postage though sir, is this acceptable?"
    "Ok"
"Cost for postage is €7.99 and are guaranteed to reach your home address in 20 working days"
    "Wha, the offers over tomorrow"
"sorry sir, perhaps you should have bought your camera sooner" :D

    Good luck guys
