    Thoughts?

I've noticed how difficult it is to nail this weekend's weather correctly. Met eireann mention "rain", "Saturday" and "Ireland" but that's the height of the details. These stalling fronts are the typical niusance that they always prove themselves to be.

I think that the rain on Saturday won't reach the east coast until 10 pm. The models keep pointing to the LP to sort-of slide along Ireland northeastwards.

Tomorrow morning could be rainy, but I can't really tell what to make of the forecast for drizzle tonight/tomorrow.

I know a number of farmers who are interested in finding out, and one or two have been asking me what I make of it. So any discussion is welcome!:D

Have been watching this carefully as I had planned a camping trip...

Changed location from Dingle to Youghal as I felt the weather wouldnt move that far in.

Yesterday it looked like it would be a washout.

Today looks like it could be quite nice, perhaps a bit windy for the tent @ 30kmph.

As you say, things could go either way.

This is bad form. Raining once again, and there's pissed off farmers in this neck of the woods. That measly drizzly shower is enough to stop work on hay, and possibly render it useless.

I wouldn't blame them either. These showers keep beefing up as they cross Ireland, with the northeast getting the worst end of the deal. Almost all of the days here had a shower or two.

    Wrap the bales!

18.2c in a strong wind and drizzle.
Imagine whats going to happen if the sun gets out...

Any sign of the sun breaking through in Dublin today?

It is causing serious problems here as well for the local farming community. Numerous people I know are facing serious problems in the months ahead as frankly any hay is fecked and the silage is glorified balls of mud.

Apparently the weekend is going to be more of the same with very mixed conditions.

Luckily for the farmers around here they all cut their fields yesterday for silage instead of hay, they were really rushing it though and you should have seen the speed of the tractors rushing up and down the road.
Very humid today with the sun out now the temp is up to 22c.

Today in Dublin City was like a cloudy afternoon in Malaga in June! Very little sunshine but it was soooo warm and sticky! Really nice for sinking those pints of cider outside the pubs!

GFS is showing some very heavy rain for nearly all of the country, overnight and into tomorrow, from a secondary low off the remnants of tropical storm Chantal

Thinking about getting train to sligo in morning as weather is supposed to break out west early on sunday, any indications? stay one night in a hostel or stick up the tent. Try out the surfing etc.
