So what cameras do you guys have just sitting around that you dont use any more?

I have a Pentax k1000 gathering dust, I bought it a few years ago to replace one I lost in a fire but havent done much with it. I could even be bothered trying to selling it as while it obviously works I'm sure it would need a service etc.

Are you a horder? Can you not bare to part with kit even though you dont use it?

I am a horder and I have a number of both film and digitial camera's laying around. Hell I even hold onto cardboard boxes and sticks of wood just in case they might come in useful at some point in the future.

My wife is the complete opposite where she will actually dump perfectly good stuff in the garbage without giving a second thought to selling it or passing it on to somebody who could use it.

Naturally such a situation is an ongoing battle!

I have an OM1 that I use sometimes, couple of old APS camera, few digi P&S. The OM1 is the only one I would use now though.

K1000? I could be interested in buying it!

I have Pentax MZ-6 and Pentax P30N. And 1.3 Mpx in my mobile :-)
I also do have FED-2 and Flexaret IVa, but I don't use them now.

Sure drop me a pm, I wasalways sentimental about the k1000 as it was my first real camera when I first got into photography.

I tend to acquire old cameras from relatives, stick a roll of film through them, and then not use them again, although I always MEAN to :-) Kodak Pocket Autographic, Box Brownie ... I may turn them into pinhole cameras at some point. I'm also trying to turn a broken old flatbed scanner into a revolving scan-camera at the moment. Oh the fun of messing around !

Incidentally, if this is going to become a "ooo, I want that" thread, if anyone has any working Bronica or Hassleblad MF bodies sitting around unused I'd be more than happy to give them a good home :-)

My first "real" camera, a Minolta dynax 500si 35mm.

1000fn. The AF is a bit bolloxed in it.

Haven't really used my MF's in a while either, but that's moreso down to not having a darkroom handy.

Mine too. Bought it in the states so I think it was called the 400si.

I am still getting great pictures from my Dad's old camera, the Ricoh KR5. Fully manual so I think it is helping me learning the digital steep learning curve! Lookin for lenses for it, should have some soon, fingers crossed.

take it to camera care on Dame Street. They repaired an OM10 which had been described as "irreparably damaged" 10 years ago (seized up shutter from what I remember) and an AM100 which inexplicably stopped working - both Olympuses. I think if it can be fixed they might do it. AFAIR they didn't charge me an excessive amount to fix either camera either.
