iPod Sortng

    I have lots of tracks by DJs for example 2 Many Djs and I have them tagged with the original artist under the artist tag so waiting for my man is tagged "The Velvet Underground" and the DJ is tagged under Album Artists i.e. 2 Many Djs but the iPod doesn't recognise this.

    So I explored the new sorting fields which the iPod does support appently. So I changed the Sort Artist field of all the tracks on the Album to "2 Many Djs" but on my iPod they are not showing up at all under the artist view.

    The same goes for Soundtracks. I want them under "Various Artists" but when I change the sort artist to Various Artist there is no Various Artists on the iPod.

    Anyone have any success with this?

    Is the album the songs are on ticked as being part of a compilation or compiulations switched on on your iPod? If so the individual artist won't appear under the Artist list. I reckon if you either remove the 'part of compilation' tick or switch of compilations you should get them all under the Artists list.

    I actually find this good though as I had a huge Artist list due to the number artists with only one song due to the number of compilations I had.

    Yes they are marked compleation but I have that turned off on my ipod because it's not how I want it. I want to see the original artist but have them under the heading 2 Many Djs and when I go into The Velvet Underground for example see the 2 many Djs remix. As far as I know this should be possible with Artist Sorting in iTunes 7.3
