Photobox - your delivery times?

I ordered some prints off photobox.ie last Wed (despatched same day) and they still haven't arrived. I'd read here on boards.ie that their delivery times were a bit 'elastic' but a week is a bit too much.

An email from their customer service says delivery window is 7 working days, which is at odds with their website. I know they're a British company but 7 days sounds pretty bad to me. I'm based on the northside of Dublin.

What's your average delivery times from photobox?

You have to remember the mail coming from the UK has been disrupted in recent weks due to the Postal strikes.
I've never used them personally but it seems a lot of people on here seem to so they cant be all bad!

I ordered some pics last week (Monday) and had them by Thursday.
Its usually about 3/4 days whenever I use them.

Delivery time for me is generally 3-4 working days which can be close to a week if you order after Monday. Post is sorted but not delivered on Saturdays.

I had one delivery vanish for a month but other than that they have generally been reliable.

generally a week for me too.. even though I did once order on Friday lunchtime and the prints were with me by Monday. Most recent order took about 5 working days.

I'd say a week is average. I do think it's Royal Mail and not An Post that cause the delay.

Thanks for the quick replies. I used them because they were recommended here

I like the fact that they don't 'fiddle' with the photos. And the price! Their 10x8 is €1.59 while spectra.ie (another recent recommendation) is €2.50. Delivery charges are about the same (€2.50 v €2.00).

Let's hope they turn up tomorrow.

I'm not sure about that. I just gotten a really big batch printed, and I submitted a small sample (20 6x4s) beforehand 3 weeks ago, and before the UK strike, to both Photobox and Foto (from Belgium) to get a comparison for quality. Both were dispatched on a Monday, both arrived on the Thursday of the following week. Of course there's no way of proving how long something is taking at any stage of the journey, but I think An Post have gone to the dogs over the past few years.

Still waiting on the main batch, but they were only printed at the weekend and are at the mercy of the UK postal strike at the moment

And a slightly off-topic rant. The Photobox 6c sale is arse. Aside from burying the fact you can't mix 6x4s and 6x4.5s in the one order, even if you do go for 500 of the same size, the shipping jumps to FedEx at around €37 with no other option, completely defeating any savings made in processing

To update my post from this morning, I split my order in 2 with normal airmail shipping to avoid being whacked for the mandatory FedEx shipping for a single order, and both packages have just arrived. They'd have been posted from the UK on Monday I would guess, so 3 working days, which is about what it should be - it's not like there aren't enough flights between here and the UK!

I was the OP so just to close this off (from my point of view).

On (working) day 9, I asked for replacement prints which photobox didn't quibble with. My original order turned up after 10 working days. My replacement prints turned up on (working) day 11 (ie, 2 days after asking for them). In other words, the postal service was to blame and not photobox.

I subsequently ordered 200+ 6x4 prints which turned up after 3 days.

All-in-all, I'm a happy customer and I particularly like the fact that the prints look just like they do on-screen (as I've a calibrated monitor).
