Over twenty poker tournament organisers, magazine owners and poker equipment suppliers have already booked their place for what will be the largest gathering of poker players that Europe has ever seen.

If you would like to tell people from all over Ireland, the UK and Europe about the tournaments you are running and the business you are running then we would like you to be a part of the Irish Poker Exhibition on Oct 6th from 10am – 6pm in the RDS.

    Whether you simply want to give out some flyers or if you want to add to the party atmosphere before the International Poker Open kicks off then I would like to hear from you;
    Stephen@pokerireland.ie

Players and non-players are invited to attend the RDS, Shelbourne Hall (free entry) from 10am on October 6th 2007 to get lots of free stuff and to join the party atmosphere.

You could get a Kiddies Clothes Shop in as well for the BBB's (Bad Beat Babies). They could sell dummies / soothers etc to those who whinge & cry and throw tantrums when they lose a hand. :D

A drug company to sell sedatives to the pricks who shout & roar & jump around when they win a hand, even if they suck out on you.

Then you can have companies selling Hoodies, Baseball Hats, Sunglasses,(for the ugly players who want to hide their faces) IPods or anything that makes them THINK they look like cool dudes.

Just a reminder to anyone wishing to set up a stall at the exhibition that they should email me now.

Closing date for registration will be Sept 1st.

    Anyone that has emailed in the last week or so is fine and booked in but anyone else looking to contribute let me know as soon as possible as space is limited;
    stephen@pokerireland.ie

I'll be asking all exhibitors to contribute something (as in €5 if you want) to the Simon Community who will be there in force to promote their fundraising tournament at the EPT on Nov 2nd.

Limited Hotel Rooms for The I P O

there is limited availability in the Montrose Hotel Dublin

its about a 15 minute walk or a 4 minute taxi ride from the RDS Ballsbridge D4

there are only 20 rooms available to us at this time

    for these dates below

    5th / 6th / 7th Sept 2007
    single €109
    double €119
    triple €129 (limited availability)

these prices are subject to using a pre booking code in association with mentioning Poker Ireland
    code : poke-051007

all charges will be applied directly to the person making the booking

bookings must be made prior to the 12th Sept 2007, they wont hold these rooms open after that

if you book after the above date, you will most likely be charged at a higher rate as these prices usually only go one way,,i.e. up

there is a concert on that weekend so, book early to avoid disappointment

    ph +353 1 269 33 11 ask for reservations,,,,quote code,,,,,pay.

we are still trying other hotels for rooms, if we get one we will post it here

This maybe a little off topic but i was wondering if:

    A) Will there be a TV there to watch the Rugby? or
    B) Will there be WiFi avaiable?

I do intend to play poker but in case I need a break it would be nice to watch the rugger.....

    Thanks

    Hi,

No the rugby won't be on the TV which is a shame as I will be sorry to miss the match myself.

There is WiFi in the RDS but I think the service costs €10 per 24 hour period.

Laptops won't be allowed at the tables during play (see our rules on mobile phones and other electronic devices)......Sorry getting into tournament director mode now.

    Stephen.

Just want to post the list I have so far as regards the exhibition.

I know there are at least three or four other organisers that have contacted me over the past few months but I am not going to thrawl back through email to find them......I need everyone confirmed before Sept 20th and space is limited to 15 exhibitors.

Poker Supplies (Peter Mc Auley) - (confirmed)
    Poker Tables.ie (confirmed)
    Big Slick (need confirmation)
    JP Poker (confirmed)
Vegas Nights (need conifrmation - will be talking to you at your tournament tonight Nick)
    Card Player Europe (confirmed)
    Simon Community (confirmed)
    Favourites Casino (need confirmation)
    Jackpot Casino (confirmed)
4 of a Kind Poker (confirmed)
    Poker Events (confirmed)

By not charging exhibitors the hope is that players will get a bit of value and free stuff for players on the day :) ....A donation to the Simon Community is also mandatory (€5 minimum :) )

    Slightly off topic,

But what are the arrangements regarding food at the long breaks Stev?

Will the RDS be serving food or do several hundred players run across the road to the pub? (hmmm better make that a two hour break):D

no mobile fones in use at the table, same as the student game

as for Blip's question about food, at the student champs, there was a chipper van there for the first break, at the dinner break I went to a chipper down the road, alot of the lads went to dominos, and there are also pubs & hotels in the area that do some good food

bring some carbo food, much better for your mind when keeping concentration levels up for a tourney like this
forget high sugar foods or coke, these only give you a quick burn high and coming down can be like withdrawal from a class a drug

the more you get the more you want,

ok, make mine a coke, no, not that white stuff, the liquid black one

jeese man, a one track mind or what
