Massive overbets, confused thoughts

    I've being seeing these at the table quite a lot recently, per both mine and Fuzzbox's posts last night.

    Example: you have AQo in a 1/2 game in MP, you all have full tanks.

    raise to 8 PF and get called by both Button and BB. pot is 25

    Flop is ragtacular - Q93 rainbow or somesuch

    BB checks, you bet 20 - button goes all-in for 192. BB folds.

    now you are in a disgusting spot. You have to use your reads/stats to decide if the guy is a lunatic and call or fold (obv. a villain with prior form in this regard is preferable here as at least there's a pattern to work off). bleh

    thoughts as follows;

    - is there any scope to incorporate this kind of apparent madness into your own game? obviously on a very selective basis but would you ever want to be making the same play as the button here?

    - is it just my perception that this crap is happening a lot recently or have other people picked up on it?

    Sorry, not much of a thread but this is really driving me nuts over the last few weeks....

    I've seenit in particular since moving to i-poker... I thought it was just lack of respect for my c-bets....they may have good reason for it....but after trying a few hero calls I made a "note to self"

    DO NOT CALL OVERBETS...... OVERBET = NUTS

    Well it's what I've found... It has been unprofitable calling overbets and I would need to be getting it right a big % of the time to make it a winnng play... I think it's donkey's way of playing a set.... "he'll think i'm bluffing" kinda thing...

    Of course you have to go with your read on the villan too and history etc etc... but in general I'm not calling an overbet any more..

    I've seen it happen a lot when scare cards hit. My calling of such bets has been profitable to date!
