    hi

ive just overwitten a directory structure with another as i wanted to upgrade a cms- however (unlike windows i think) the actual directories were replaced therefore (removing the existing files that were not affected in the upgrade - therefore my directory structure ONLY had the files that were involved in teh upgrade

is there anyway of getting back those original files ? (no i did not take a backup)

Not free I'm afraid but File Salvage is a must for any arsenal in my opinion. Works a treat! I've never had to use it on my own machine yet, phew, but it does the job!

well worth the investment, for peace of mind!

There are probably free apps out there but I just haven't come across them. Stopped looking when I found this.

Best of luck with it. Hope you get it sorted.

if the data has already been overwritten, you're stuffed. If not, there is a chance left -

you want to try FileSalvage or DataRescue.....i prefer filesalvage

*edit......lol 440 got there before me

hehe! Great minds think alike eh! Yeah, as babypink pointed out you might be in trouble but I would suggest giving it a go anyway, and it won't be a wasted investment either way.

I'm looking forward to Time Machine, it'll come in really handy for these situations.
