the crappy rain cover on my wilson stand bag has given up the ghost, so I've decided to look for a new one - stand bag that is...

I'd like to hear thoughts on the stand bags available in the usual shops (mcguirks etc), shipping of a bag from the net I would think would make it too expensive.

I fancy one of these ogio vision - anybody have one, seen one in the flesh, know where I can buy?

I'm also looking at the callaway warbird

    any thoughts?

I need good club dividers, couple of pockets, bottle holder, decent rain cover.

They both look like good bags, I've had the older version of this bag for the past few years http://www.mcguirksgolf.com/bags/titleist-bag---x68-stand-p-1516.html

Its stood up well to use the stand isn't as sturdy as I'd like but does the job.

I got this Titleist bag, the x78, just the other week. I'm really happy with it.
Drinks cooler, loads of pockets and the stand is really good.

€179 in McGuirks (I got it for €130 as I know a few of the lads in there, wouldn't have spent that much otherwise) . It's quite expensive but there's a cheaper version with a few less pockets for I think it was €149.

The Callaway one looked nice too. The bag I had before this one was a Callaway and lasted me years, like literally about 8 years. Really tough and durable. Nothing broke in the end, just wear and tear.

that ogio vision looks to have the 'schling' single strap system which is interesting and worth a try imo, but haven't seen them anywhere here to try before you buy. Buying online is a bit risky for a new strap type. I had an Ogio Exo for a couple of years and it was grand if a little heavy.

Bear in mind that Ogio manufacture Callaway bags so the two you have listed are probably not a wide enough spread. In general pretty much all the main brands outsource there bag making. I think Titleist and TM both use Izzo. I currently have a titleist CB carry bag and love it.

thanks folks, Only decent price I could get online for the ogio was about 220 US shipped to Ireland, about €160. Not sure I want to go that much after my last foray into McGuirks on Monday  Might have to have a think about how much I want to spend...

I'll definitely check out the Titleists, and suppose I'll just have to go and have a look at what's in the shops.

    Still fancy that ogio though........

Padlad, I have the red ogio vision with the shling, but TBH I only ever stick it on my cart, you can take the shling strap off and stick on a regular strap if you don't like it, which hasn't been the case with all Ogio bags. Plenty of pockets etc, but a bag is a bag - right?

    Here's my 2 cent.
I've got a stand bag. Its an Izzo. Read a couple of reviews a year or two ago about stand bags. The first and most important thing about a stand bag is how it feels across your back (after all you are going to be carrying this thing for 4 hours or so). Izzo without question make the best carrry bag for both comfort and durability.

Give them a look into before you buy

Thanks. I've only seen one Ogio in Mcguirks (and it was quite an old one), anybody know if the other shops stock them?

Where did you buy and how much?

I've a Sun Mountain bag and I can recommend them. Ogio and Izzo are also first class bags.

Get one with twin straps and full dividers.

Was in Belfast for the Bulmers Cups & Shields finals and the pro shop had one of these 3 in 1 bags - it was a stand bag, a cart bag and also had detachable wheels and a pull up handle like a case.

Think it was Tri-bag - they come from US but they were about £99

Also found a bag with wheels on ebay - It is currently €49.95

Yeah, had a look there stockdam, when you actually click on the items though it says 'Product not found' so I'm guessing they're out of stock.
