Daihatsu Terios: is it a Good Thing?

I am thinking of getting a new car; I live out in the country, and the roads here are bumpy and narrow. I was ofered a Daihatru Terios, and the mechanic I know says it's in good shape.

How good a drive is this model? Should an inexperienced driver be driving it? (My current, a.k.a. first, car is an Opel Corsa so I'm used to small cars - the Terion is small too). And, will they allow one to pass the driving test on it?

I wouldn't recommend it other than for a runabout. If you are doing any real mileage, get a small car. If you need a 4x4 this is only a toy.

the old one is a pig to drive, but the new model is a whole load better, I heard it's based on the old Rav4 platform.

If it is the old model Terios you looking at then maybe a Suzuki Jimny would be a better option.

The new Terios is light years ahead of the old one and Toyota donate alot of the parts.

Jimny might be a better option, but still not a good one.

its a toyota in japan, made for small people, use only in very smooth roads, not advisable to be inside one after more than 4 pints

They're grand little cars, and don't depreciate much either. Provided it's the newer model, and you're getting a good deal, go for it.
