    Whats the quality like?

I'm looking to pick up some camping gear for Iceland in September.

Bejeebus, do not buy cheap if you are going to Iceland, you will be spending a lot more replacing the inaquate crap you bought.

Go to a camping specialist to get the specs needed then find them elsewhere.

    eta

not that bad actually though no wind details.

jesus don't buy the dunnes one.

i spent 3 nights in one in ireland in a massive flat field and the tent bearly lasted the 3 nights.

i'm going down to Inis Mor for the weekend and just want a tent to crawl into at 5 or 6 in the morning. It's gonna be a drinking weekend and will be hardly in the tent. And i've no intentions of bringing it home. so the dunnes one should hopefully do the job for that. if it doesn't, i always have mates tents that have plenty of room.

Think the weather should be decent enough at least up till sunday so rain shouldn't get at it

    Hi Kearnsr,

Check out http://www.jackson-sports.com/ for your trip, they are based up north and do free 3 day delivery to the ROI...

If you want a good cheap 1-2 man tent get one of these:-
    http://www.jackson-sports.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=6522
They are about 50 Euro, which is good for a Vango tent.. got one a few years back, use it a few times a year, and its quite good....

I can't recommend these guys enough, myself and friends have bought from them and they are always spot on...

hmm, the Dunnes one will not keep rain out! it might keep some light moisture but given the summer we're having I would not go near it.

Decent site. Gona have to have a look at that now.

Would the likes of millets/army bargains be cheaper or is the best place to go?

argos have a €20 two-man tent. I've just come home from a week of camping in amsterdam, similar enough weather to here for the last week, and the tent was grand.

two points of advice though, if you're going to be in a hot country, get a tent that will reflect heat back, a silver one.

And if you're going to be in a wet country, buy a groundsheet for outside the tent.
