Sky+ Box/Remote problem.

Ok - dunno what the problem is here, maybe someone on here can help

Problem is my sky remote won't change the channel like normal. If i have the remote more then a couple of inches from the box it just doesn't register, and even that close it doesn't register all the time.

However, if i got to another room, and use the same remote with a signal sender thing i got in argos, it works fine. The signal thing beside the box is only an inch or so away, but i can use the remote from anywhere in the other room and it is picked up by the transmitter. The Sky+ remote will also still work fine with my TV (volume etc) as it always has - so its not like the batteries are gone in the remote.

The fact my TV volume control still works from the Sky+ remote leads me to believe it is a problem with the box, but then everything is working fine if a check in my bedroom with the signal sender.

Any ideas what the problem could be, and how to go about sorting it?

I tried the sky standard "turn the box off at the mains and turn back on after a minute" solution, which did not work.

remote is back working fine - but does anyone have any ideas what could have been causing it? Its not the first time it has happened?

Try move the the signal sender a bit away from the receiver on your sky box. I've had the same problem before and it seems the bit that transmits the signal to the sky box from my digisender is almost catching the signal before the box receives it so I just have to move the transmitter a little bit away from the receiver on the box and it's fine then.

gone again....AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH, transmitter/reciever isn't the problem, removing it has done nothing.

Found the problem - turning my PS2 on was taking the signal out, or something. Never noticed it happening before. most odd.
