Polo & Gearbox

Hi, have you heard any problems with Polos and its gearboxes, I am thinking to buy 97 year Polo 1.4, but I am worried because I think those cars have problems with gearboxes going, any info about this? cheers,

I've seen gearboxes go in Polos of that year. Not many though. I wouldn't be too concerned as only a very small percentage gave trouble.
