Sorry if this shouldn't be here Fey. :)

So, who's going to the beers from the Instruments forum. I'm thinking of going again, and it'd be nice to meet some you guitar & bass lovin' people. :p

Its on Saturday 11th August from 7.30pm in Messr Maguire's in Dublin on the Quays (beside O'Connell Bridge). The boards.ie beers is downstairs. ;)

What's the deal with boards beers? A place to go and refer to real people by their user names?

It's an opportunity for bearded, squinty-eyed computer programmers who don't normally get out, to get together and crack jokes about Atari Jaguars and 'Yore Ma'.

Frankie, pop along anyway. Decent beer in Messrs. Worth it alone tbh.

So what is this "beer" you speak of? Does it make you a better musician? Does it make you attractive to women? Does it make ugly women look attractive?

I dunno man.... they have their own special brew in that place, it's tricked me many a time. Sure, you ask for Guinness and then they start talking you into trying ye olde messer stout, made from the aul fella's very own very secret recipe.

Still, it would be interesting to see the dynamics between the various groups and to play the glorious guessing game. I reckon Fitness forum are easy to spot, then... hmmm... no real emo forum but I'm sure there'll be other easy to spot groups. Fun times.

Last time I was at the beers I was hanging with the biker forum people, it was fun :)

I'm just saying we need some musical representation there! :D

Hah... the Eve forum... easy to spot cause they'll be at home playing Eve. Although I do wish they'd go to it for the madness.

Ah, I'm sure there'll be plenty of instrument representation, music definitly... sure all those singers have nothin' better to do then talk. Crazy lot.

Messr's brand ale would be worth it. If only I had a tankard...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,325 ✭✭✭Frankiestylee

You could bring your own tankard. Good times.

I have... several tankards, this could well be a possibility. Anyone else going so?

I started the long trek, but after swimming 40 feet, I realized I wasn't going to be able to complete the other 5,000 miles. :)

I may be there tomorrow. I'm not sure yet.

I may be out, I got invited to a party on Saturday night. I dunno I might pop in for a few pints beforehand. Just look out for a really tall guy with a shaved head wearing a Lonsdale jacket....OMG...I sound like a skinhead....

    I'm not a skinhead btw. :)

Might give it a look in for a bit anyway. One or two people owe me free drinks it seems, so no time better to claim those.
