Wireless network security

Setting up a secure wlan in the appartment just for laptop xbox etc. Prices for going over my download limit are also pretty steep so I don't want anyone stealing my bandwidth. (Though I feel like a bit of a hypocrite sa I have done same in the past, if its not secure they must WANT me to use it :D).

Basically what I have done so far is changed router passwords, disabled ssid broadcast, enabled WPA with a short enough (but pretty secure) passkey.

Is there any other steps reccommended (filtering by MAC address etc) or would that just be overkill?

MAC address filtering is fairly pointless it's easy to clone a MAC.
If you are happy that the wpa passkey you use is secure then you should be all set.

If the key is short.. It can easily be cracked by someone who knows what they are doing...If it's jut joe blogs next door and see's wpa encryption and looks no further then your ok... But you never do know who's within range..
Password generator here www.grc.com/pass cut and paste a 63 character password and you are UNCRACKABLE..
