    howdy,

have 1.9tdi A3, noticed that theres some black residue on the paintwork around the exhaust pipe...

any ideas? or is this normal for diesel motors?

oil level seems normal, not going through fuel any differently...

    Thoughts?

    Cheers!

I saw the same thing on a Merc CDI today. It isn't what I would call normal though. Its like a problem with the EGR valve or something. Most diesels will smoke a little under very hard acceleration, but they shouldn't be blackening the back of the car.
