    I see lots of stuff like this on Komplett:

    But there doesn't seem to be any sign of a review or an opinion about them anywhere online. Does everybody just accept that they're cheap and bad?

    They're aimed at people who want something big and flashy in their room rather than good quality speakers. You'll generally get what you pay for... I know of second hand Mission 752 speakers going for €250 which would be a much better buy. PM me if you want contact details.

    I just want need something for the TV because the speakers in it are so bad. They have this rumble like the wind. Obviously faulty, even after a "repair."

    I mostly just watch things recorded from TV, so 2 speaker stereo will do for now, with 5.1 added later maybe. I'd appreciate any further suggestions about equipment.

    youll need an amplifier for those speakers, you can't connect them to audio outputs on the tv.
