Along with getting new mags ive decided i mite aswell get a red dot sight.
My options being take off the carry handle (its a dboys m4) and sitting something like this on it.
Or getting the little rail that fits on top of the carry handle and get something like this
My main reason for option two is the fact im afraid the scope fitted straight on to the M4 will have its view blocked by the front sight and as far as i can tell would be a pain in the arse to take off and im not to mad on fiddling with it incase i break or damage the barrel.
Ive been googling pics of both types of scopes and i still cant decide which looks better so now you lot are gonna decide for me:)

I think If you get high mounts the front sight wont get in the way but dont hold me on that. The front sight got in the wat of my reddot so I cut it off. If you have the money you could get a folding sight.

Aye the folding sight would be very handy but i dont think the sight thats on there will come off without a struggle and i dont want to cause any damage to the barrel.

you are in luck...as i got a red dot this very day on a cantlever mount...and i put it on a dboys cqb all metal . it has a fixed front sight

i have to take the rear sight off but even with the higher mount..i can still see the front sight.....through the scope.

doesnt bother me, cos i got it for the appeal...but you may want a ris rail on the handle if you dont want the front sight in the way....

one final thing is i dont have a handle on my m4

just checking and cant find it now, but there is a rail attachment that can be put onto the handle of an m4. it gives you a level ris rail onto of the handle and then you could add a reddot with a flat mount onto that....

Presume this is what ya mean Fallschirmjager. Its the Dboys full Metal M4A1 i have but id say the front sight on yours are the same dimensions as on mine.
Cantlever mount means raised/ L-shaped doesnt it?
When you look through the site does the front sight hinder the view much?

the first one you linked to in your first post with the aimpoint style red dot is the cantilever mount...it is raised a bit.

the front sight on m4's is standard, its the upside V. (except the s-system which is fold type...exactly to solve the problem you have)

on the carry handle...when i went looking i bumped into that one on ehobby and i could not decide so you may need to ping an email but i can descripbe it to you.

the handle on the m4 is angled downward towards the front. it is always at the same angle...so what they do is build a level platform that is like a reverse angle, bigger at front and lower at rear...the ris rail is on the top. you can then mount any ris enabled scope on it. as the handle is part of the rear aiming sight once you are sitting on top of it, you will be over the front sight. this is the one you can look for 150146735097...not recommending the seller but its a clearer picture...just also check the handle on the dboys and make sure it can take it. there should be a hole for the screw to go thru, but that is from memory. if not you might have to drill one.

on the aimpoint reddot there are a number of mounts..check out 270147409340 on ebay. the handle and the attached ris rail AND a cantilever might be a bit too high, so the above one might be better as it is a little flatter...

one thing to do tho is check around ebay, they are cheaper ones available IF you are looking for an AIMPOINT styly red dot..

    hope that helps

if thats what you like dude, go for it.

just remember if you are mounting that on your m4 handle, you will still need the other mount for the handle...

all scopes like this use the ris/ras/weaver mounts to attach to your aeg and from what i can see that scope is no different. so i think you stilll need the piece that you screw onto your m4 handle and you attach the scope to it. so you will still need this 270149546968. your scope will attach to that unit which in turn is attached to your handle. thats from ehobby, just saw the other photos of it now...sorry dude if thats the one you point out last night, was too tired and missed all of their other photos. ...

if i have totally confused you, let me know and i can try and find some pics for you.

does the dboys have a hole in the middle of the carry handle of the m4? it should

lol im not confused yet, and yes the handle has the hole in it for the rail to be fitted to and im going to go buy one right now:)

well then you are laughing dude. it should just be a case of screwing the ris/ras/weaver handle mount through that hole, and then screwing the scope onto the rail and bingo...

then comes the really hard part of getting people to stand still so you can let rip...LOL

If they dont stand still theres always full auto:)
Whats the story with these illumninated scopes, this one goes red/green but if the battery dies do the crosshairs just dissapear or is it like looking through a normal scope?
And is the illumination even that useful?
