Capturing a still from a DVD: How?

I need to capture a still from a DVD/CD so that it can be printed in a catalogue.

I have no idea what software I need to do this.

My computer has Photoshop CS3, Windows Media Player, Windows Movie Maker, InterVideo WinDVD4.

My stock-in-trade is PSCS3. I don't use the other programs, to be honest.

Can I capture with any of them?

I would then like to be able to edit the image in CS3.

    Thanks.

    D.

pause where you want it, then press "Alt + Print screen" together. then go to photoshop or paint or any imaging program and click edit, then paste. this works for taking screen shot of anything on the screen.. (example below saved at very low quality...)

ps.. you may want to check copyrights etc about taking it to print in a catalogue or magazine... this area i have no idea about..

WinDVD 4 should include video capture. From their FAQ page..
    How do I use capture?

You can capture a still image during movie playback. Press the P key at any time to capture a BMP file of the current frame. Capture does not work on zoomed regions and on some hardware motion compensation graphics chips. If you are experiencing problems with capture, disable the hardware motion compensation and try capturing again.

Captured images are stored in the Capture subdirectory of the WinDVD directory on your hard drive. Captured files are numbered sequentially: cap001.bmp, cap002.bmp, and so on.

    VLC has a snapshot feature.
