JCM-900 advice

Hello, I just bought a second hand jcm-900 combo, everything is in good order, it plays well, sounds good, but the overdrive channel is not as high as expected, sounds like a good crunch. i suspect that its because the tubes are old. does it take okder tubes a long time to warm up?

sorted it, the input jack was a bit funny, had a quick tinker at it and its perfect now. mmmmm tubes..
