    HI all

Just recently i put my archos 504 (40gb) into my comp to use as a harddrive. I have been doing this for a while and it has worked grand.Im running vista premium and i believe it should just load automiatcally (no drivers from downloads). This time it didnt work,it just says device isnt recognised. My archos is still working grand just not in hd mode.

Any help would be brilliant because a lot of importtant is on it.
    Thanks in advance

You might have to change the drive letter that Windows has assigned to the drive.

    Sure:

Start- Control Panel- Administrative Tools- Computer Management- Storage- Disk Management- Right Click on Drive and 'Change Drive Letter and Paths'

Pick a letter you're computer's not using already.
That should hopefully sort you out.

I have this problem in XP, never bothered fixing it because I just use Linux to do it instead.

In my case, it works in Windows Media Player but not in HDD mode. I'm think I should just uninstall the driver and allow it to be installed again.
