I work in the Blanchardstown Corporate Park and was thinking about using a couple of lunch breaks during the week for a bit of practice. Not getting out at all these days in the evenings due to work being so busy and I'm back online when I get home.

Looking for somewhere which is no more than a 10-minute drive away (so that rules Carton out Slumped :D ).

    Elmgreen is your best bet.

I'd actually say heading up to hollystown and using their practise range would be the best bet as it is a fair bit closer.

the only issue with hollystown is that there are only a few bays and it is a short range, so prob no drivers. but for a lunchtime session it may suit

yeh, either of the two mentioned. at elm green you can stand and chip for a while or hit the big putting green or head for the driving range.

never used hollystown but sounds like you have a couple of decent options!

This was mentioned before. Does Elm Green have a short game practise area? To practise chipping? Bunker shots? If so where is this? Does it get busy? I've only ever seen the big putting green you mention, in front of the clubhouse.

Fingal driving range has a short game practise area but it's a membership thing there rather like Cart...oops ;)

yeh, it has a small practice chipping green round the other side of the clubhouse (just next to the scorers hut, near the main car park). It doesn't have a bunker unfortunately though. Quite tight round about the green, but its usually very quiet (no more than 1 or 2 people at any time generally). It's not great, but its ok for a bit of a practice on the short game.

What is the criteria for using ElmGreen?? Can anyone, ie me, just walk in and use the driving range?

Hollystown driving range is closed until end of March :(

You rock up, pay for balls and smack em away - 8.50 for 100 balls.

The Ward is €5 for a 100 balls.

At the roundabout at Hollystown swing a right and at the Ashbourne Rod junction go right and its about a minute down the road on the right.

€5 for 100 but mats are poor.

10 minute drive from Corporate Park

When Hollystown does open the range you will always get to use it...Never busy and you can use the grass. No restriction on drivers either and you could use the putting green as well

Hi Lubo, It's on the old Ashbourne Road.

I pass by Elmgreen because The Ward gives better value. Costs me more but there you go.

Was in the Ward driving range last week, and they are doing a 2 for one offer on baskets of balls at the moment...fiver gets you a huge bucket of balls, not really sure how many, to be honest...mats are still poor though...

€5 for 100 at the Ward (Old Ashbourne Road), but that is a promo only for winter, so will probably end over coming weeks.

They do have mirrors to check out your swing, none in Elm Green.

Don't bother with the Ward after dark as the floodlights are pretty crap.
