I have a bit of a job dilemma. Basically my boss is leaving to go to a competitor. A vancany has opened up on her team. The structure would be -> Her-> me -> 10 designers. I would get a payrise of about 4k and the chance to get some good management experience.

My current company have heard about this not sure from who but no they have offered me my bosses job so the structure would be Me-> 8 designers. with about a 5K raise. Basically both roles are PM roles the new job i would have a lot more freedom in as my boss trusts me to do whatever i need to do and we have a good working relationship and personally i feel the new company would be better in the long run. The internal promotion is a highly visible role in the company though ireland and abroad, but one of the pet hates my boss had was that when given a project there was always interference from above her pay grade and frankly this irratated the hell out of me. I have thought about this for over a week and i am stil no closer to making a decision!

But my boss needs a decision by friday! any ideas?

    Let me get this right

New Job = Good Experience + Good working enviroment + 4k + you happy

Old Job = Good Experience + Bad working enviroment because of higher upsinflunceing you + 5k + you not really happy, maybe stressed.

Just go were you think you will be happier, which seems to be the new job. An extra 1k a year surely isn't that much (€20 a week), especially to sacrifice your happiness. Do what I have tried to do write a list of pros and cons, I know it may sound stupid but when it is all down on paper in front of you it might make it easier.
