he wants to know what password you lost.

is it the windows one - where it asks you for the password it looks nice and shiny

or the BIOS password where everything looks like crap and in like one of 16 colours?

BIOS password is when litterally as soon as you turn on your PC your greeted with a black screen and writing asking you to enter your password.

Login password is the normal Windows box in front of a blue screen asking for your password (Most likely this is the password you're on about!)

Well, if it's your BIOS password the best way to get through it is to remove the CMOS battery in your computer for about roughly 2 minutes. This will erase the password allowing you to go back in.

In case you don't know what it is it's the big grey circle on the right of this motherboard (On different PCs it would be located in different places on the motherboard)

If it's your normal password (more than likely) then start the computer, hit F8 straight away, go into Safe Mode. 9/10 times there won't be a password on the Administrator's account. So, if you manage to get in:
    • Go to Start
    • Control Panel
    • User Accounts
    • And select change password on your own account.
    • Restart the PC and log back into your account
    Badda Bing, Badda Boom!
