    hi there,

just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem as this

basically i turned on my sky+ 2 days ago, and everything i had recorded is now deleted.
it says there is nothing in your sky planner.

but i had about 63% used...

its not the first time its happened apparently. my dad said it happened a few months ago.

    :(

anyone else lost anything they recorded?

the power in my house has been fine, no outages. the sky+ has not been turned off while recording and we cant figure out why it happened.

is it worth contacting sky about?

    Hi there,

phone SKY, there is a procedure they will run you through which is like a 'soft' re-boot.

If that doesn't do it then you should ask to speak with a supervisor, they will help you do a hard re-boot.

The soft re-boot should restore your planner.

The hard re-boot will wipe everything.

    Richie.

The "soft reboot" is what is called "Planner Rebuild" and is accessed by pressing (on remote) Services, 4, 0, 1, Select. This brings you to installer menu.

Near the bottom are 2 options, Planner rebuild, and Full System reset. The planner rebuild is basically like defragging HDD, whereas the Full System Reset is HDD format.

As there are no recordings on your planner now, the rebuild won't bring them back, though may help avoid disappearance in the future. No harm in trying anyway.

if u can take out the harddrive and put it in your pc you might be able to scan it for the missing data, like using getdataback or something...not sure about sky boxes harddrives though. :(

What are you going to do with the hard drive in your PC? Do you know the file structure of the menus, or of the stored programmes?

Happened to me twice this year.
Lost everything and couldn't get any of the programmes back via Sky.
Very annoyed with them and they couldn't offer me an explanation.

    thanks! this worked fine.
i rang sky after i did it, and they told me its a techincal fault with the box, and if it happens again, they replace the box. but only the second time it happens...
no hope of getting my recordings back, but its not the end of the world....
just all season 8 and 9 of sg1! grrr

    thanks for the replies!
