    Hey all,

    I'm going to the states tomorrow and I'm planning on a buying a new camera over there. My budget is around €1,000.

    Any recomendations as to what I should get?

    What do you want to get?

    SLR? Point and shoot? Bridge camera?

    Film? Digital?

    What interest in photography do you have?

    Hey,

    I'm looking for an SLR. I currently have a Finepix S5500 but I want something fancier.

    Has to be digital. I'd have a casual interest in photography, nothing too serious!!

    Canon 30D?

    Nikon D70 / D80?

    Pentax K10D?

    Olympus E-410?

    They'd be your best bets at the moment for a keen amatuer.

    The Pentax has been getting great write ups.

    Where in the states are you going?

    Wherever you buy, make sure you can play around with each camera first.

    heres what I'd get:

    Canon EOS 400D - $659

    Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II $75

    EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens $530

    Total = 1264 + 8.375% Tax


    grand total = $1,369.86 = €1,002.31

    All from B & H, New York
