    Hello all,

Can't seem to find a link to a college calendar, there is one but it is 2 years old.
What date do lectures restart for the arts block?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello there,

You can find links to the College Calendar for 2006-2007 here. The Calendar is updated every year so come Michaelamas some of its regulations will have been updated and new ones added.

Anyhoo, to answer your original question, teaching in all faculties in the Arts Block (both Arts & Humanities and Human & Social Sciences) starts on Monday 8th October. You can get this information from the 'Important Dates' section of the Calendar, which you can view here. Some courses have different start dates but that's only in Nursing, Midwifery and courses in the irish School of Ecumenics.

I hope that helps. If you've any other questions, fire me an e-mail to education@tcdsu.org.

Also, for the laugh, read the College Calendar. It's hilarious. We have an assistance fund for sons of clergy from the West of Ireland!

Not at all. I find them remarkably useful and beneficial to students. I just like the way they phrase the College Calendar. For example, I like the way they say "a solid grasp of the fundamental elements and methodology of the particular discipline" when I would say, in conversation, "knowing your stuff". Sorry if that didn't come across properly.

The descriptions are fantastic: I like the one for Sophister students, 'to save them as far as may be, from being compelled to divert their energies into other activities in order to obtain the necessary means of livelihood'.

Also the 12.70 award, preference given to students from Clogher.

A good tradition though, and I'm glad to see how many awards have been established recently. They're setting up some new ones in honour of Barbara Wright at the moment, I read.
