Computer not recognising player recently. Peats telling me thay can't find any problems with it. Thoguh I've tried it on three different PCs wit the same problem on all.

I plug it in - it says it's connecting as per usual. Then it stops & just opens up the media library. Sonicstage not noticing it at all.

Peats also said that they can't replace it even if it is faulty - would have to be sent to Sony for repair. This seems like a lie, anyone know for sure?

If it's under a year (or maybe its 2?) your contract is with the sellar, if it needs replacing peats have to replace it, then thy can deal with sony distributions or whoever their seller was.

Don't take any excuse from Peats. Demand a replacement. The product should last its lifetime and as long as their is no accidental damage, they are obliged to replace it if it doesn't last the expected lifetime of the product. Its not limited to one year, its product dependant.

Keep telling them you are demanding a replacement under your rights as a consumer quoting the sale of goods and supply of services act 1980 and demand to speak to management if they don't give you a replacement after 5 minutes or so.

If the manager fights back or they refuse to let management talk to you then inform them that you are going fully intend to take this to the small claims court. Do take them to the small claims court because they will loose and probably give in before it actually goes to court. If they don't turn up to the court they will loose and you will be entitled to a replacement.

Why don't you get them to show it to you working on their PC?

I only read it quickly and it seems like a seller has the right to replace or repair it.

Get a digital camera with a decent video mode and video it not working.
