New 300mm first outing C&C

First outing for my new baby. Forgot to reset the AF memory lock from earlier when testing at home, so not many clear shots.

Last one was taken with 80-200 from far side of ground up on the terrace.

That's City-Exile sitting on the ground but doubt he could catch the image on his 300mm lens as he was possibly too close to the action

I was too busy taking pictures of you to worry about any goal celebrations.
It was one of those moments where I was so happy, I didn't give a shoite about missing the shot. He practically landed in my lap! (That's not what I was happy about )

The guy standing behind me has a Sigma 70-300 and he got the shot alright.

Jaysus great shots. How do you get pitch side, do you have to apply to the FAI or individual clubs for permission?

Now that the FAI have taken control of the eircom League of Ireland, you have to apply to them. In previous years, I used to have arrangements with specific clubs. Most of them could be bribed with a few shots for their match day programme.

In reality anyone with the bottle to appear at the gate with a chunk load of expensive looking japanese plastic/metal hanging from their shoulder would be admitted.**

Jaysus, you make me sound really old!
I must admit to being a bit of an eLoI whore & used to arrive at the gate with a camera. Always got into the ground, but wasn't always allowed on the pitch.
Have pitch-side access for every game now though.
It can be a bit daunting sometimes, as you're surrounded by the pros, who're working to a deadline.
