Movie is upside down!!

Dont know whether this is the rigfht place for this, but anyway...

I'm new to Windows Vista, just have it a few days. So I'm transferring some movies from my XP computer over onto my new Visa one. It seems however that one of my favourite movies is upside down now in Windows Media Player! Even though it worked fine on the media player in XP.

I need to open it in VLC player so as to add subtitles too, and even in that its upside down!

Anyone have any ideas (short of actually having to flip my lappy 180 degrees! )

EDIT: The movie file is .avi, I have the DivX codecs etc to play it. My other .avi files play grand, just this one file.

might be an issue with the video drivers you are using

or if you've installed any codec packs, maybe they're not working properly

maybe check if you have the best drivers for your hardware, vlc has an option to rotate the video you are watching in settings under filters, might work as a short term solution

VLC has an option under the Extended GUI in the menu to turn on or off Video Transforms. In your preferences you probably have the Transform set to 180, the other options are 90, and 270 degree rotation.

This is a known problem its related to outdated video codecs and the display driver.

Uninstall whatever codecs you installed and install the CCCP codec pack.

Then install the latest display driver for your graphics chip and that should correct the problem
