Floor standing speakers

    Hi all,
    Ok, I've had my Vista Media Center for 4 months now and finally I have it the way I want! Got the noise down after realising going cheap on the CPU cooling and PSU was a bad idea... got sound, video and TV working properly after a couple of driver upgrades and got my case VFD working properly after isolating the power inputs and removing electrical inteference...
    The good news is that I love it but the final thing to get working are the speakers. I'm using the on-board Realtek HD sound card but I'm only interested in 2.1 as I watch movies in another room on a bigger TV (the plan will be to get an XBox 360 in there to use as a media center extender, so if anyone has one going cheap...).
    I can't find decent floor standing speakers for a PC anywhere. I'm looking to spend about €200 or so and they need to be walnut wood or aluminium (or brushed steel) to keep herself happy.
    Anybody know where I could source these? Or any recommendations on make? I'd be happy retrofitting a 3.5mm jack onto other (non PC) speakers' cables but I don't reckon that'll work with the output of the sound card...
    I'd appreciate any help... :D

    Try http://www.technikdirekt.de/ - I bought an LG 5.1 home entertainment system there and it's class, though the floorstander speakers are massive, but am used to them now as they look well. €333 plus €20 delivery.

    I have a set of monitor audio Silver 5i that are a few years old. I used them as rears in my old setup, but moved into a small place so cannot use them.

    PM me if interested.

    Edit - realised you'll need an amp also

    Do you plan using SPDIF with the amp?

    If not, at least grab an old audigy soundcard off ebay for 15e. Trust me, your ears will thank you.

    @Mayshine:
    Thanks for the offer but I'm living in the UK at the moment so getting them over would be too much of a hassle...

    @SouperComputer:
    Yeah, I've started to come around to that way of thinking. It's amazing how your ears can get used to bad sound, until you hear a good set of speakers play the same piece of music. I actually thought it was the crappy stereo amp I'm connected to at the moment but I had intended to pick up a S/PDIF card to pass the sound digitally to an amp. It makes the most sense.

    I'll probably be going for something like this:

    with these speakers:

    But at the moment they're in a long list of other stuff with higher priority. I'll just have to make sure to stay away from decent speakers and I'll be able to live with them for another month or two!
