I've really been enjoying this show which is currently showing on US tv.

    Burn Notice:
A spy, Michael Weston, receives a burn notice for an unstated reason, effectively firing him. He has spent the previous decade working for the government in Eastern Europe and returns to his hometown of Miami to get his life in order. Michael will stop at nothing to find out why. Shut out from his normal contacts, but still driven to right wrongs, Michael needs to stay under the radar in...

I don't know if anyone else has been following it, but it's worth a look. Apologies if there is already a thread for this show, but I couldn't see one.

    Happy viewing!

    Mike

I wouldn't say that I have been blown away by the show but I have been watching it. Gabrielle Anwar plays an ex IRA agent in it and her "Oirish" accent is so bad that it is laughable. Fortunately she drops the accent after episode 2. I would recommend checking it out if you want something to pass the time during the summer.

Yeah I posted about it a few weeks ago.
Anwars accent was terrible - glad she dropped it.

The only thing that bugs me about this show is the overuse of the freeze frame...

Is his ma yer one from Cagney and lacey (sharon gless)? She smokes a lot in it and the cigarettes change size from frame to frame, also noticed a boom mike (i think) in the second episode!

Yep that's her. Story lines are very weak imo. McGuyver meets Magnum PI. I have watched the first three and I am already losing interest. I am not sure why they keep mentioning the Burn Notice seeing as it forms so little of the plot.

Just after watching episodes 1-3 and I enjoyed them. The storyline so far has been slightly generic, but it's also a lot of fun and easy to watch.

Plus the presence of the great Bruce Campbell greatly adds to the show.

Thought I'd drag this back up to spread the word. It seems that Burn Notice has been renewed for a second season. 13 more episodes to look forward to.
