    hi All-
I’m really looking forward to seeing this movie and plan going this weekend, but I am a little worried as I want to bring my 8 year old with me as he's dying to see it.
But i'm concerned as i see the film is rated 12a, so can you guys tell me if there is much bad language and violence that would be unsuitable for children of 8.
    or am i ok?

    Much appreciated

No on the bad language front but some of the fight scenes might be a tad to much for an 8 year old but the LotR movie were alot gorier if thats any help.

I think the strongest bad word used in it would be sh!t and I think it was only used once or twice. The violence for the most part is just robot on robot, so the blood and gore is really down to a minimal.

I think it would be perfectly fine for an 8 year old.

its pretty hard core on the violence front but not gory. the only really dodgy thing is the masturbation scene. dont worry you dont see anything its just a scene where sam is mortified by his mother who thought thats what he was doing and wants to discuss it. its done for laughs and is funny but you may find yourself being asked questions by your kid.

    seriously thats about it

As mentioned, masturbation seen is the only one which could 'cause problems'.

However, if it helps, I will tell you when it comes up so you can just bring the kid outside for that part if you want:
When the young lad and lass go back to his house with the Autobots to find a pair of glasses. You could leave when they enter his bedroom, then give it about 3 mins :)

Kid says, "What are they talking about?"
    You say, "Nothing."

End of debate, the giant robots will distract him to the point of not caring about it anymore.
