Hello ,I got an incling today ,to start a online dvd renting account.

BUT ,three of the sites don't have secured payment options.
The credit card imformation is entered on a bog standard web page ,needless to say thats why I tried different companies.

Ones i tried ,busybeedvd and 247dvd ,can't remember the other:confused:

    Is this good practice ?

Went onto busybee. Started the signup process, and as soon as I did the page secure lock appeared on the taskbar. And its showing an SSL cert. Now, I dont know an awful lot about sites, but I thought this meant the page and info entered was secure?

    It wasn't on mine ,it was a http:// page:confused:
Edit : / my bad :( A right click for properties shows it as secure . No padlock showing on IE7 though.

    Sorry.

I took a look at the Busy Bee DVD site..

I went to the order page for my free trial and while they harped on about it being secure - its not. No little lock sybmbol appeared, even when I entered my credit card details.

If you right click the page ,it's actually a https:// page. would it be something go to do with being redirected to the .com domain from the .ie domain ?

dvdrentals.ie is the one I've used for a year or two and the one you're refferring to. Its quite reliable and has a better website to busybee, looks more professional anyway. Let me know if you're going to use it so I can act as your refferrer and I'll get a free month's rental.
